Upon a death, the doctor certifies the death and issues a death certificate.
In case of death in the home, the declaration of death must be carried out by relatives or undertakers at the town hall of Manosque within 24 hours of the finding. If the death occurred in a hospital or a retirement home, the declaration of death may be made by the institution within 24 hours. To be registered, the registrant must provide:
- a piece of identification,
- the death certificate issued by the doctor, the police or Gendarmerie
- an identity document for the deceased (family book, identity card).
