The Service État Civil, a key player in the conclusion of the Civil Solidarity Pact (PACS).
The Service de l’État Civil of your commune provides the necessary documents for the conclusion of the PACS. The Civil Solidarity Pact (PACS) is a contract between two adults of opposite sex or the same sex, made in order to organise their commune life. This contract must be registered by a notary or by the District Court. The Service d’État Civil may provide certain administrative documents, such as birth certificates or even additional documents. Once the PACS is registered, the notary or the clerk transmits the information to the Service d’État Civil. The PACS contains a marginal note on the birth certificate of partners.
